Seven Laws of a Great Drawing

Here are seven things that I find very important in a drawing. Do I achieve this in every strip of Skooled? No, but it’s something I think about and something I strive for.

1) Line of Action

2) Solid construction

3) Clean silhouettes

4) Solid perspective

5) Squash & Stretch

6) Asymmetry

7) Organic form

  1. Those are some good laws to have. I think some of the original Disney masters (“the nine old men”) kept the same laws. I can tell you strive for those laws in your strip. I too strive for the same things in my comic but I don’t always get there. I just wanted to take the time to say I really like your strip and I look forward to new ones. Keep up the good work and I hope to keep getting “Skooled.”
